Samsung SmartThings – Interactive Retail Experience at Arkadia

Samsung Electronics

The agency designed an immersive "Home of the Future" retail zone for Samsung at Westfield Arkadia, translating the SmartThings app into a physical, interconnected customer journey.

Interactive Retail Experience I SmartThings

BACKGROUND

While "customer experience" is a common retail buzzword, Samsung needed to move beyond traditional product displays to showcase the true power of its connected ecosystem. The challenge was to transform the abstract concept of the SmartThings app into a physical, intuitive journey within a high-traffic retail environment (Euro RTV AGD in Westfield Arkadia).

SOLUTION

We designed a "Home of the Future" ecosystem that guides customers through a physical narrative—from the living room to the kitchen. The project merged global corporate standards with bold, local design innovation:

-- Experience-Driven Path: Instead of isolated islands of appliances, the layout was designed as a continuous living space, demonstrating how devices interact in a real-world setting.

-- Visualizing Data Flow: We integrated dynamic LED lighting into the walls to symbolically visualize the real-time flow of data and connectivity between devices.

-- Smart-Centric Focus: The entire display was centered on the smartphone as the "invisible assistant," shifting the customer's focus from individual hardware to a unified, manageable lifestyle system.

RESULTS

The installation successfully bridged the gap between digital functionality and physical retail. By combining global scale with local design courage, the space has become a benchmark for interactive retail, allowing customers to experience the SmartThings ecosystem as a cohesive, life-enhancing tool rather than a collection of separate products.
